Voting

How voting works

Community upvotes decide each week’s winners on HalaLaunch. One rule keeps the leaderboard fair: one real person, one vote.

Who can vote

  • Anyone with a HalaLaunch account can vote. You sign in with Google or an email link.
  • You get one upvote per app, and you can upvote as many apps as you like.
  • You can’t upvote your own app.
  • Changed your mind? Tap the upvote button again to take your vote back.
  • Votes from new accounts count the same as any other vote.

When votes count

A launch week runs from Monday 00:00 to Sunday 24:00 UTC. Only votes cast during an app’s launch week count toward its rank that week. You can still upvote an app after its week ends. Those votes add to its all-time total, and its weekly rank stays the same.

How apps are ranked

Apps are ranked by the votes they received during their launch week. When two apps have the same number of votes, the one with more comments ranks higher. If they are still tied, the app that was approved first ranks higher. Comments that were hidden or deleted don’t count.

When the week’s results are final, the top three apps become that week’s winners.

Fair play

Every vote should come from one real person who chose to vote for that app.

Welcome

  • Sharing your launch and asking your community, friends and followers to vote.
  • Voting for every app you like, including other makers’ apps in the same week.

Not allowed

  • Voting from more than one account. One person, one account.
  • Votes cast by scripts or bots.
  • Buying, selling or trading votes. This includes vote exchanges and offering rewards for votes.

How we review votes

Admins check each week’s votes before its results are final. We look for signs such as many accounts voting from one network or device, and accounts created in bursts.

Votes that break these rules are removed from the count. Accounts that abuse voting can be banned. A ban removes the account’s votes from any week that isn’t final yet and hides all of its comments.

Voting closes on Sunday at 24:00 UTC. Results become final on Monday at 12:00 UTC, 12 hours after voting closes.
